MARLENE BURNS CECIL
Marlene Burns Cecil, age 80, died Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at her residence in Savannah, GA. She was a Texas native born in Corsicana, Texas, August 15th , 1926. Most of her adult life was spent in Dallas, Texas with her husband Gowan Lanier Cecil, who is also a native of Texas. She was member of Highland Park United Methodist Church in Dallas. Some of her most wonderful times to be remembered are her days gardening, antiquing, her love for cats, travel, and visits from her family. In August of 2004, she and her husband moved to Savannah, GA. to be closer to family and spend time with her great grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband Gowan Lanier Cecil; two sons, Larry Thomas and wife Barbara of Roanoke, VA. and Charles Michael Williams and wife Drew of Altamonte Springs, FL; grandson, Matthew Williams and wife Aimee of Savannah, GA; two granddaughters Kimberly Williams Smith and husband Mark of Savannah, GA. and Kelly Williams Sayago and her husband Lee of Orlando, FL; and daughter-in-law Rose Ann Williams.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 9, 2007 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors Hodgson Chapel with Reverend Samuel Waltkins, Ed.D.
Burial will follow in Restland Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
