Ann Gorin Bottler
Ann Gorin Bottler, widow of Joseph S. Bottler, Jr. who predeceased her, died August 13, 2007 after a short stay at St. Joseph’s – Candler Hospital. She was the daughter of Dr. James W. and Lucy Wilson Gorin both Savannah residents for many years.
Mrs. Bottler graduated from Brenau Academy in Gainesville, made her debut in Savannah, and attended both the University of Georgia and the University of Kentucky where she was a member of Chi Omega. She later graduated from Western Kentucky State University with a BS in Home Economics.
Mrs. Bottler was a member of the Lady Washington Chapter of DAR, the Georgia Historical Society, Independent Presbyterian Church, the Mary McLean Circle, and a life member of Clan Kincaid. She belonged to several garden clubs, the Landings Association, and the Oglethorpe Club.
She is survived by her daughter, Ann Gorin Prothro of Versailles, Kentucky, her nephew, Thomas W. Hughes, Jr., her great niece, Amy Hughes Wood, and Amy’s sons Andrew and Paul, all of Bowling Green, Kentucky.
A Savannah memorial service will be held at a future date. Visitation and burial will be held in Kentucky, where her husband, parents, and other family are buried.
