Alice Kathleen Gilreath
January 24, 1909 - September 18, 2007
Thunderbolt- Mrs. Alice C. Gilreath, 98, died Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at Hospice Savannah.
She lived most of her life in Thunderbolt where she was a member of the White Star Chapter of the Eastern Star, the Fireman’s Auxiliary and for over 70 years, Wesley Oak United Methodist Church. Her husband of 66 years, Birl Arthur Gilreath, preceded her in death.
Survivors include daughters, Jean Doney and Betty Hall of Thunderbolt; son, Birl Arthur Gilreath, Jr. and his wife, Edy of Fleetwood, NC; 9 grandchildren, Michael Doney, Joe Doney, Mark Doney, Kathy Hartman, Denise Cooey, Angie Burns, Lisa Scroggin, Chief Stephen Gilreath and Dr. Philip Gilreath; 16 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 20, 2007 at the Islands Chapel of Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 21, 2007 at Wesley Oak United Methodist Church with Reverend Lynn Drake officiating.
Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
