SAVANNAH - Aubrey Bryant Waddell died Wednesday, September 26, 2007, at his home. Born on January 11, 1931 in Charlotte, NC, he graduated from Admiral Farragut Academy in St. Petersburg, FL in 1950, and then attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
He retired from Tanner of North Carolina in Rutherfordton.
Mr. Waddell was a Master Gardener, a past president of the Savannah Rose Society and a consulting Rosarian. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church.
He is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Mary Cargill Waddell; daughter, Mary Townsend Rees and her husband, David, of Atlanta; two grandsons, Thomas Pinckney Townsend IV and James Cargill Townsend; a sister, Jane Waddell Luckenback and her husband, Roy.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 30, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., at their home in Ardsley Park.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 1, at Christ Church.
Private burial service will be held in Bonaventure Cemetery.
