MARION ELIZABETH HOWARD DEAN
Marion Elizabeth Howard Dean 86, passed away at her 331 Tattnall Street residence on Monday, October 22, 2007 of natural causes. She was raised in Atlanta, Georgia and although well traveled, remained a true southern lady. Mrs. Dean was retired from the United States Government.
Mrs. Dean was preceded in death by her beloved husband Colonel Zender V. Dean who with her was active for many years in promoting tourism to Savannah and historic sites in Morgan and Chatham counties. Mrs. Dean owned the 1852 LaRoche House for 30 years which is listed in the Georgia Registry of Historic Homes.
Mrs. Dean is survived by her daughter, Darlene Dean and her grandsons, Kevin and Matt. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews, a half-sister, Deidre Howard Smith of Milner, Georgia.
Graveside Services will be Friday, October 26, 2007 at 2 p.m. in the Beaufort National Cemetery in Beaufort, South Carolina.
