Ann Loretta Grella, age 84, died Tuesday, October 30, 2007.
Loretta was a native of Savannah, Georgia and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was a member of one of Savannah’s earliest Girl Scout troupes. Loretta met her husband of sixty-four years at a USO Dance and they moved to Florida in 1957. Loretta owned a dance studio, worked for civil service, and even worked for several weeks as a welder in a shipyard. She had a great love for animals, crabbing, world traveling and continued water skiing until age 79. Loretta was a loving wife and mother and a good friend to all who knew her. She had a true zest for life; she was a woman of wisdom, integrity and had a great sense of humor. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Grella.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Joseph Grella of Melbourne, FL; two sons, Michael Joseph Grella, Jr. of Cumming, GA and Stephen James Grella of Spencer, TN; one daughter, Loretta Grella Sorbello of Melbourne, FL; seven grandchildren, Michael Joseph Grella III, Patrick Grella, Thomas Grella, Stephen Grella, Blake Grella, Rebecca Grella and Rachael Ann Cosgrove; and two nephews, Everett James Plaspohl and William Plaspohl.
Visitation will be from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 3, 2007 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors Hodgson Chapel.
Interment will follow in Bonaventure Cemetery.
