Bessie K. Yentzer, 92, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Friday, October 26, 2018. She was born October 6, 1926 in Bulloch County, GA to the late Frank and Bertha Kerby. She retired from Palmer & Cay Insurance Company after 43 years of service, where she was the welcoming voice. For many years, she was the owner/operator of the Montgomery Street Flea Market.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Raymond Kerby and H.C. Kirby, and her sister, Gladys K. McDonald.
She is survived by her sister, Elaine Doak of Savannah, her brother, George F. Kerby, Sr. (Betty) of Faulkville, many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Aunt Bessie was a second Mom, mentor, and flea market friend, and influenced many multi-generations of family.
She was known to family and friends, as Aunt Bessie.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, October 29, 2018 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Burial will be in Brewton Cemetery, Hagan, GA.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Habersham House for the love and care given to Ms. Yentzer for the past 2 years.
