Donnie and I shared many fond memories together growing up in Bacon Park. I will always remember playing baseball & football together with Mr. West coaching us. And when we were 17 years old, taking an adventure of a lifetime on an old rusted out tramp freighter out of Savannah to all parts of the Caribbean/South America. He was a special person. I pray that his family will have peace at this time. God is our refuge & strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Psalm 46

My condolences to the family. May you find comfort in the scripture at Revelation 21:4.

My heart is heavy knowing that Donnie is no longer with us. He was a selfless person always willing to help others. He was very intelligent, witty, and full of suprises. To his precious mother Elaine, whom he loved dearly, may you find comfort and peace through this difficult time. RIP my friend

Donnie was one of the best friends I’ve had since moving to Ssvannah. We had our ups and downs and found ourselves in some terrible situations. But through it all he was always there to help where he could. He help to change me through our great lord and savior. It makes me happy to know he is no longer suffering and able to see his son and dad in a much better place. It makes me terribly sad that he will no longer be here to help me but we will meet again. A great family that has done nothing but open there arms for me. Much love. Matt, Katherine and Aiden Hankey
