Percy "Pete" Baker

Tybee Island - Percy "Pete" Baker, 66, died November 18, 2007 at Memorial Health University Medical Center. He was born in Crossett, Arkansas and moved to Tybee Island six years ago from Little Rock, Arkansas. Mr. Baker was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was employed as an avionics mechanic in Little Rock and also in Savannah for Gulfstream Aerospace. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 154 and the Tybee Island Bomb Squad.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Robin M. and Christopher Jones of Peachtree City, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Daniel W. and Debra Baker of Maumelle, AR; brother, Robert Baker of Cleveland, OH; grandchildren, Casey, Ashley, Gabriel and Danyelle.

Celebration of Life Service: 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at Doc's Bar, 10 Tybrisa St., Tybee Island with Hawaiian shirts optional.

Remembrances: In lieu of flowers please make a toy donation to the USMC sponsored Toys for Tots at Toys R Us, 7800 Abercorn Street, 354-5222 or a monetary donation to Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, P.O. Box 1947, Quantico, VA 22134.

Pete was a good person and marine. He suffered of bowel problems all of his young life until the Marines Corp gave him an operation. I loved my brother and wanted to be with him, but couldn't cause We were spit-up and placed with relatives after my dad died . God bless him.d
