Johnny passed away suddenly at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 2007.
Johnny was born May 15, 1921 in Ludlow, Colorado to Frank and Phyllis Bracco Battu.
He attended schools in Oak Creek, CO. He served as an aviation mechanic in the Navy during World War II. He retired from the American Oil refinery after 32 years of service in 1978. He spent the years of his retirement doing the things he enjoyed most: camping in North Georgia, fishing and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the Bonaventure Road Church of Christ.
Johnny is predeceased by his parents and step parents, Dominic and Elvira Colo and brother, William Battu.
Johnny is survived by his wife of 63 years, Camilla Dasher Battu; a daughter and son-in-law, Marsha and Daniel Lockett; a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Brenda Battu. He is also survived by grandchildren, Jennifer and Barry Cline, Danny and Roxanne Lockett, and Troy and Jennifer Lockett as well as great-grandchildren, Brandon Chapman, Avery Lockett, Carter Cline and Braden Lockett.
Visitation: 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 25, 2007 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral service: 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 25, 2007 at Fox and Week Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Burial will be private.
The family requests that remembrances be sent to a charity of one's choice.
