Allan Carl Ranta, 75, died Tuesday, December 11, 2007 in Savannah.
Mr. Ranta was born on December 31, 1931 in Red Lodge, Montana. He graduated from Montana State University with a degree in Architectural and Structural Engineering. He served in the United States Air Force as a First Lieutenant and was stationed in Savannah. At the completion of his military tenure he was employed by the Corps of Engineers and later practiced architecture in Savannah until his retirement.
Mr. Ranta was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Rahal Ranta. He is survived by his two daughters, Tanya Ranta Larvan and husband Peter, Carla Moore and husband Scott E. Moore, all of Savannah; son, Allan C. Ranta, II of Atlanta; three grandchildren, Ilse Larvan, Wynn Moore and Clay Moore and sister, Dagmar Quickstad of Colorado Springs, CO.
Memorial Visitation: 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Graveside Funeral Service: 11:00 AM Friday at the Greenwich Section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Benedictine Military School, Baseball Program, 6502 Seawright Drive, Savannah, GA 31406.
