Thomas Eason Watson

Thomas Eason Watson, 81, passed away peacefully at home on December 11, 2007.

Mr. Watson was born in Wilcox County, GA, the son of the late James W. and Vera M. Watson. He served in the United States Navy as a Signalman during World War II and was assigned to the USS Basilan AG68. At the completion of his military tenure he began working with Interstate Life Insurance Co., where he retired after 25 years of loyal service. Thomas was a regular attendee of the Tuesday Night Supper Club at the Tybee Lite Shrine Club.

Mr. Watson was preceded in death by his brothers, Wilbur and Billy Watson. He is survived by his longtime companion, Betty Thompson; son and daughter-in-law, James "Tony" and Kathy Watson of Poquoson, VA; daughter, Lisa Watson of Savannah; grandsons, Jamie Watson and Michel Kilgallon; granddaughter, Brooke Watson; sisters, Lisa Warren of Ocala, FL, Doris Jones of North Augusta, SC and Ann Heiges of Gray, GA; brother, Charles Watson of Jacksonville, FL and host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 6:00-8:00 PM Friday at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.

Funeral Service: 10:00 AM Saturday at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel with burial following at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers: Alden Watson, Barry Watson, Charlie Deen, Steven Kuetschmore, William Zarkadas, Ralph Cowart and Kevin Watson.

Honorary Pallbearers: Crew Members of the USS Basilan AG68.

Remembrances: Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301 or the Tybee Lite Shrine Club, 1 Meddin Ave., Tybee Island, GA 31328.
