JOHN PIERCE BROWNE JR. “ JACK”
John Pierce Browne, Jr. “Jack”, 85, died Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Mr. Browne was a native and lifelong resident of Savannah. He was a communicant of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, a member of the Hibernians Society, the Alee Temple where he was past president of the Oriental Band and member of Solomon’s Masonic Lodge. Mr. Browne was past president of the Georgia High School Football Officiating Association and was very active officiating high school baseball and football games. Mr. Browne was a purchasing agent with the City of Savannah and retired from Harry Evans Coating. Mr. Browne was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corp serving during WWII.
Surviving are, his wife, Jeanne M. Browne of Savannah, daughter, Kelly Browne Quarles and husband Edward of Conyers. Ga., son, John P. Browne, III of Myrtle Beach, S.C., daughter, Catherine Louisa Browne of Savannah, son, Steinie Martin Browne and wife Laurie of Marietta, Ga., grandchildren, Stephen Pierce Quarles and wife, Angela, S.J. Browne Jr., Hailey C. Browne, William Taylor Browne and two great grandchildren, Madison and Dorothy Quarles and several nieces, nephews ands cousins.
Graveside Services will be Saturday, December 15, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park.
Remembrances to the St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church School.
