Cindy was one of the first people I met when I moved to Savannah a couple of years ago. She had such a warm and loving heart. I had the priviledge of working with her at Memorial; she was always so caring and compassionate with her patients and she was a fierce advocate for them as well. Of all the roles she played, however, her most favorite was being wife and mother to her beautiful children. Our prayers are with the entire Shuman and Harrison families. --- Stacey and Steve Owen

- Stacey McKenna Owen, Savannah, GA

May god strengthen you during your sudden loss. I am priveledged and honored that Cindy and I crossed paths during our lifetime. She always smiled and we talked hours working at night about our kids and good recipes. God called a beautiful angel that will dearly be missed. Sean, I pray strength for you and the kids. We love Cindy but God loves her best.

- Catrena Fields, Savannah, GA

Also if it wasn't for Cindy giving me rides to and fron school in that little silver car that got passed down to I think every sister. Not only did Cindy and I twirl in high school together, but also on the college level as well, and low and behold we still after all the years worked at the same hospital together, talked about our children and familys, and shared on alot of old memories. I am so sad for her loss and continue praying every day for Sean and those beautiful children that she was so proud of and loved so much.

Words pale in the attempt to describe someone so beautiful, kind, and geneous as Cindy. Dearest sister, I will miss you so! I have so many wonderful memories of Cindy. I can recall the first time we met, sitting next to each other at the start of our Third Grade year. This was to be a pattern we followed even into college. One of my fondest memories is driving Cindy through the Christmas Parade when she was Miss Wayne County. I was thrilled that she met and married Sean, the light of her life, and in our conversations and her letters, both he and their children were unmistakeably the greatest of all blessings to her. I regret only that I did not make the time to see you both more often. Sean, let me know if there is anything you need; please, ask away! And to the Shuman family, I love you all! You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Please do not hesitate to contact me if there is anything I can ever do for you. Although we will miss her dearly, how wonderful it is to know that the same vibrant, bright-eyed and smiling Cindy we love lives on in the hearts of all she has touched. Better still is the peace and joy that comes from knowing that we will be with her again someday.

- Steven Tanner, Smyrna, GA

Although I haven't been able to visit with the 'Shuman Girls' for many years now, it was still such a shock to hear the news about Cyndy. Every Easter, I am reminded of the Easter Egg hunts that we would have in Mrs. Vernell's yard when we were youngsters. My family and I have been blessed to know all of you. We love you and are praying for you during this unimaginably, difficult time. The positive impact that she had on others will continue to shine through. God Bless You All! Love, Holli

My heart goes out to Cindy's entire family. Cindy was a special kind of friend...since I moved to NC we have maintained our friendship, emailed and talked, and played KENO whenever possible, and she was my rock in August when my oldest daughter, Anna, had surgery. She was by my side throughout that terribly long day, actually going in to the surgical suite to check on Anna when the day grew long, and was with me as I went in to the recovery room. She visited me often, and then brought those precious children to visit Anna while she recovered in a hotel in Savannah! We laughed a lot and talked for hours, and she just had a way of handling life that I admired. Sean, I love ya, and I will be praying for you and your children and the rest of the family. God Bless You. Love, Kelly

- Kelly Paul, Oak Ridge, NC
