George W. Heater

George W. Heater, 88, died Monday, December 31, 2007 in Savannah.

Mr. Heater was born on February 26, 1919, the son of the late George and Florence Heater. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II in Japan. He was employed by and retired from Hobart Manufacturing where he worked as a Quality Control Engineer for many dedicated years. George was an active Boy Scout Leader, a volunteer at Grace United Methodist Church, a volunteer coach to local recreational sports teams and a volunteer to several schools in the Piqua, OH area. He could simply be described as a "Grandpa to all children". George was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer.

Mr. Heater was preceded in death by his daughter, Judi Uehlein and two brothers, Charles and David Heater. He is survived by his wife, Barbara J. Heater; daughter, Jo Ellen Jackson of Greenville, OH; daughter and son-in-law, Jeni and Gary Green of Covington, OH; son and daughter-in-law, Jim Heater and Heidi Wagstaff of Savannah; grandchildren, Jacob and Kara Heater, Gary Michael and Christopher George Green, Barbie Morefield and Alan Jackson; great grandchildren, Zachary and Hanna Green, Scott Williams, Jagger Graham, Cameron, Nathan and Taylor Jackson and one great grandchild due in June of 2008.

Funeral Service: 11:00 AM Thursday at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer. Further funeral services and burial will take place in Piqua, OH.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the Boy Scouts of America, P.O. Box 152079 Irving, Texas 75015-2079.
