James Q. Lindsey

James Quinton Lindsey, 89, of Savannah was called to his eternal home in Heaven on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 after a short but serious illness at Hospice Savannah.
J.Q. was a longtime member and deacon of Ardsley Park Baptist Church where he served as a greeter for many years and was also a member of the Mark Sunday School Class. He was a member of the Golden Christian Seniors and helped with many community fund raisers.
As a resident of Rivers Edge he was a volunteer gardener and enjoyed many activities with other residents.
J.Q. was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Gwendolyn White Lindsey and his son James Burnette Lindsey.
J.Q. is survived by his wife of 15 years, Bertie Carleen Lindsey, daughter, Dorothy L. Truman Rhodes, stepdaughter, Mary Shirleen Lindsey, stepson, James T. Linda Stevens, Jr., grandchildren, Melissa R. Stan Bond, Michael E. Kay Rhodes, and Yvette L. Gene Warnock; great-grandchildren, Sonny Bond and Sarah Gwendolyn Bond; sisters, Eva Galbreath and Laura Kennedy, and many stepgrandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 18, 2008 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 19, 2008 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel with Dr. Calvin Webb, officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
Remembrances may be made to Ardsley Park Baptist Church, 1 E. 55th Street, Savannah, GA 31405.
