Julius Vincent Cook

Julius Vincent Cook, 91, died February 20, 2008 at Memorial Health University Medical Center. He was born in Savannah, son of the late William Frank Cook and Lula Carney Cook. The lifelong resident of Savannah was retired from the United States Postal Service and a member of Isle Hope Baptist Church and the Elks and Moose Club. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Emma Jean Guerry Cook and his second wife, Sarah P. Cook.

Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Guerry Cook McLendon and Leighton C. McLendon, Jr. of Aiken, SC; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jay V. and Frankie Cook of Athens, GA; David B. Cook of Watkinsville, GA; brother, John M. Cook of Savannah; grandchildren, Leighton C. McLendon, III and his wife, Allison of Columbia, SC; David V. McLendon and his wife, Tracy of New Orleans, LA; Lea Anne C. Wallace and her husband, Jeff of Savannah; Jay W. Cook, of Athens, GA; Guerry Jeanne Cook of Nottingham, England; Rachel Marlene Cook of Athens, GA; great grandchildren, Leighton C. McLendon, IV, Lawson P. McLendon both of Columbia, SC; J. Wright Wallace, Anne Keese Wallace both of Savannah; step-daughters, Sally Wells and her husband, Jeremy of London, England; Iris Callaway of Atlanta; GA; grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Wells of London, England; Jennifer C. Garlow of Atlanta, GA; John Elliot Callaway of Atlanta, GA; great grandchildren, Zachary Garlow and Austin Garlow both of Atlanta, GA and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside Service: 3:00 p.m. Friday, February 22, 2008 at Bonaventure Cemetery with Reverend Myron R. Fields, officiating.

Remembrances: Isle of Hope Baptist Church, 22 Rose Ave., Savannah, GA 31406.
