A kinder, gentler man may never have graced the face of this earth. Jack was truly one of those individuals that all of us are richer for simply having known him. I greatly treasure the all too brief moments that I had the privilege of spending with him. My deepest regret is that he will now know the truth of my honest effect on Kem's study habits ... His legacy will live on through the grace of his loving wife, Anne; and through 2 sons, Robert and Kem whom I am proud to call 'Brothers'. Jack emulated all that is best in life, and provided a shining example of what a Husband and Father should be. My only hope is that I can leave my own family with but a portion of his character and love. Our deepest sympathies to Anne, Robert, Kem and their families. All our love, Jim, Cathy, Amanda, Caitlin & Kendon Copeland.

Anne, How blessed we are to have been able to renew our friendship and for my Jack to get to know youat our tailgates at Conner Hall, UGA Football. Always, you and Jack met us wtih smiling faces and happy hearts. You have been a part of my life so long, the Pearce family across from my Granny Doster, seeing you and Jack when we were all having our after church family dinners; one of my very first weddings was yours at 'THE BAPTIST CHURCH', you such a stunning bride,in my mind your dress was a lovey bronze tone, later you were my piano and band learder, such a effort on you and your dedication to Rochelle to start our very first band, your home at the conner of Hill/Third with the beautiful Christmans decorated doors, which later became our first home. I was always able to talk to 'Miss'Lucille' and know where you were. I have much admiration for you and Jack for venturing from this little cozy Rochelle nest for Jack to make such great accomplishment with IMC Fertilizer. He, with your constant love and support, was always putting that next foot forward. How proud I am to be family and friend to a couple, Anne and Jack, who contributed in every community, yet ALWAYS SQUEEZED IN EVERY MOMENT TOGETHER TO ENJOY YOUR LIVES and YOUR WONDERFUL BOYS. Letsa and Robert were at 'Miss Marguerite's School' together. We will always be anxious to see you. See you in Rochelle. With Love, Norma & Jack Chastain

We shared many happy memories with Anne and Jack while living on Skidaway Island. Now we seem to have traded places. While they came to Skidaway from middle Georgia, we have recently moved to middle Georgia from Skidaway! We will miss Jack--his wit, his loyalty, his Christian witness. Our love and heartfelt sympathy comes across the miles to Anne and the family. Deedee and Marc Gregory

Jack's son, Kem, and I have been friends since our days as fraternity brothers and roommates at the University of Florida. I have many fond memories of Jack, but none stronger than that of him incessantly shaking his red and black pom-pom in my sad and disappointed presence only moments after Lindsay Scott broke the Gator's collective hearts in the fall of 1980! Ever a gentleman and always smiling, he never gloated over those Bulldog victories - at least not where we could hear him! Elizabeth and I extend our deepest sympathy to Anne, Kem, Robert, and their families, on the loss of such a wonderful man. God bless,

Jack' and I were friends for 70+ years. We lived in Rochelle, GA. and played together. My son was involved in an accident in Savannah and lived only 17 days after that. Jack came to the hospital every one of those days to sit with me. No one could have a better friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.
