Daniel Edward Hanlon, Jr.
Daniel Edward Hanlon, Jr., 97, died Friday, March 14, 2008 at his residence. He was a native of Bronx, New York and lived in New Jersey before moving to Savannah 4 years ago. He was a 1934 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy. Mr. Hanlon was retired after 30 years with the U.S. Government as an Engineer with the Air Force where he was a Missle Site Director. He also retired from Sperry Gyroscope Co. after 20 years of service.
He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 72 years, Alyce Buntin Hanlon, of Savannah, one son, Daniel E. Hanlon, III and his wife, Donna, of Savannah, one daughter, Dr. Barbara J. Bohannon, and her husband, John, of New York, one sister, Monica Minter, of New Jersey, three grandsons, Daniel E. Hanlon, IV, James Hanlon, and Adam Bohannon, and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at a later date at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.
