Lillian Buxton Johnstone
April 20, 1911 - March 17, 2008
Lillian Buxton Johnstone, 96, passed away March 17, 2008 at Azalealand Nursing Home.
She was born in Girard, Georgia, daughter of the late Judah Benjamin Buxton and Louise Odum Buxton. Lillian lived most of her life in Savannah and was a graduate of the Telfair Hospital School of Nursing. She served the citizens of Savannah as a Public Health Nurse for over 35 years. She was a faithful member of Epworth United Methodist Church. Her husband, James B. Johnstone, Jr., preceded her in death. Although she had no children, she cared for her many nieces and nephews as if they were her own.
Surviving are two sisters, Eloise B. Jenkins of Augusta and Mary B. Daniel of Glennville now living in Savannah; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 2008 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel.
Funeral: 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 2008 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel with Rev. Dr. Ralph Bailey officiating.
Burial: Bonaventure Cemetery.
