Mary F. Dipman

Mary F. Dipman, 84, died Thursday, March 27, 2008 in Savannah.
Born in Lakewood, OH on June 4, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Katherine Farquhar. She was a 1941 graduate of Oberlin High School in Ohio and received her formal education at Oberlin College where she earned her degree in English. During World War II, when many US soldiers were at war, she worked as a Systems Service Representative for IBM. After her tenure with IBM she married Mr. William W. Dipman in 1947 who she traveled with extensively during his career. In 1981 she moved to Savannah and was very active as a volunteer with many local organizations including, the Reach to Recovery Program of the American Cancer Society, the Bethesda Boys Home, The Girl Scouts as a Girl Scout Leader and Skidaway Island Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Dipman is survived by her husband, William W. Dipman; daughter, Katherine D. Fullerton of Savannah; son, Carl W. Dipman of Columbus, OH; two granddaughters; brother, William K. Farquhar of Oberlin, OH and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service: 2:00 Monday at Skidaway Island Presbyterian Church with a reception following at the church.
