Betty was my sister.Although 14 years separated us and we could sometimes fight like cats and dogs, she was still my big sister and her children were like my own children and sometimes like my sisters and brother. We shared a lifetime of good and bad times, but we were always there. She is one of the reasons that I became a nurse, because of her passion and compassion for the sick. I had her nurse put the phone up to her ear on Easter Sunday, and she managed to say 'I love you.' I will carry that with me for the rest of my life and know that she, along with our parents, are watching over me. Betty,I love you! It was worth the ride to be your little sister.

What can I say about my Aunt Betty? Well...She was a strong, beautiful woman that lived life like a trooper! She was independent, funny, and always wonderful to me. She had class, style, and a huge heart! What amazed me about Betty was her ability to help those in need and her desire to respond to the sick around her. She was a great person, a woman ahead of her times, and a trip to know. I know everyone that knew Betty felt a close connection with her....but the connection we had is hard to describe with words. We are cut from the same cloth. We could speak to each other just by looking at each other and shared many private jokes and good times. I will miss her and I will always know she is looking down on me from above. Good bye Aunt Betty... You better meet me when it's my time to enter paradise. Love, Matty

To Betty's Family - Betty was one of the best nurses I have ever met. When she was at her best, she could run circles around all of us that were younger than she was. Since my parents built the nursing homes down on Tybee, Betty spent many years working for them and then consequently, when I became the Administrator, she worked with me for a number of years. I will miss her smile and good humor - she could always make you feel better just by talking with her. I am so sorry for your loss. My deepest sympathy to all of you. She always talked about her kids and grandkids. I know she loved you deeply. Terry Jackson
