Helen Mercier Huff

Helen Mercier Huff, 81 died Sunday, March 30, 2008 at St. Joseph Hospital. She was a native of Commerce, GA. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Richmond Hill and was an honorary member of The Red Hat Society. Helen was retired from St. Joseph Hospital as a Registered Nurse where she worked in the operating room. As well as Georgia she was also licensed in South Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and New Jersey.
She was a loving wife and mother and is survived by her husband of 61 years, Charles E. Huff, Jr., of Savannah, two daughters, Susan Barnes, of Savannah, and Margaret Verstein, of Charlotte, N.C., one son, Charles E. Huff, III, of Saluda, S.C., and three grandchildren, Charles E. Huff, IV, of Charleston, S.C., Seth Huff, of Saluda, S.C., and Morgan Barnes, of Savannah and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Additional visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Thursday, April 3, 2008 at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home in Greenville, S.C.
Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 3, 2008 at Graceland Cemetery West, Greenville, S.C.
Remembrances may be made to the First Baptist Church of Richmond Hill, building fund or a charity of donor's choice.
