My thoughts and prayers are with your family. Karen Lubeck Smith Class of '95

My sympathies to your family. Connie was my son's 4th grade teacher - his first year in the United States after moving from France, 10 years ago. Connie welcomed Max and made him feel loved during a very difficult year when he had to learn English in a hurry - and most of the kids were mean to the 'French kid'. We loved Connie and her helpfulness with Max.

- Susan Moore, Savannah, GA

Connie was an inspiration to all of her friends and comrades in Delta Kappa Gamma Society - Nu Chapter. She gave us her friendship, her smiles and her wonderful inspirations at our meetings. She will be missed by all of us in Delta Kappa Gamma - and especially by those of us that she befriended over the years. God bless her family. She was one of a kind - and I will miss her sunshine at our meetings! Kathy Looper

Your mom will be greatly missed! I am so glad that I got to see you and her last week. May God's peace be with all of you as you mourn. I look forward to seeing her great smile when I meet her in heaven one day. I do wish that I could be there to support you at the funeral, but know that I am praying for you all day. Please give your address to Mom and Dad. They will pass it on to me. We love you all, Ruthie and family

Connie was an inspiration as an educator-not only to her students but also to her colleagues. She taught us to be better reading and writing instructors and to bring literature to life for our students. Connie also taught us how to face death with gallantry and peaceful dignity. Thank you Connie. May God bless you and keep you.

Connie was my first teacher, and as such always seemed to follow my education all the way through college. She was tough in the classroom, but gracious all the same. My family is grateful that she was so involved with our lives. Good bye Connie, we love you!

Connie was a wonderful teacher to my children in lower shcool. Later, we shared many hours of fun cheering on the Hornets. I especially remember the bus trips to the away games; she wins the award for the most loyal Hornets fan! She put up a good fight of her own. She will be missed my many.

- Dotsie Dewberry, , GA

I'm Dorothy's daughter from Statesboro. I know how much your mom and mine loved and respected each other as educators and friends. How fitting that they join each other on the same day for life eternal never to suffer sickness and sadness again. I know they were both recieved with the words:'Well done, my good and faithful servants.' Warmest thoughts, Anne Clifton

We just buried my mother yesterday.I wanted you to know how much Connie meant to us, both as a teacher for our children and as a dear friend. She was a fierce fighter of her illness, and carried on her life with purpose and dignity. She was also a lot of fun. Heln and Murray Marshall
