Tybee Island - Hugh Latham Hill, 89, died April 24, 2008 at Oceanside Nursing Home. He was born in Savannah, son of the late Frank Reynolds Hill, Sr. and Elizabeth Potts Hill. He was a graduate of Savannah High School and a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. Mr. Hill for many years worked in heavy equipment and auto sales. His wife, Mary Gibson Hill and brother, Frank R. Hill, Jr., preceded him in death.

Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Mary Elizabeth Hill of Savannah; Julie H. and Paul Cheney of Orlando, FL; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert G. and Susan Hill of Savannah; James L. Hill of Savannah; six grandchildren, Dawn Schmitt and her husband, Mike of Columbia, SC; Ross Daniel and his wife, Lisa; Matt Daniel, Gibson Hill and his wife, Aubrey; Justin Hill all of Savannah; Conor Hill of Athens; five great grandchildren, Scott, Daniel and Wright Schmitt all of Columbia, SC; Liz and Sid Daniel both of Savannah; lifelong friend, Joseph E. "Buddy" Inglesby, Jr. of Tybee Island and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 28, 2008 at St. Francis of the Islands Episcopal Church with burial in the Church Garden.

A reception will follow in the Church Parish Hall.
