Arlie O'Rand

Arlie O'Rand, 87, died Wednesday May 7, 2008 at his residence. The native of Linden, Texas lived most of his life in Savannah. He was a charter member of Southside Baptist Church and a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was retired from Metropolitan Life Insurance Company.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Louise G. O'Rand; three children, Arline O. Sowers and her husband W. Frank, Jr.; J. Brett O'Rand and his wife Eleanor; and Kathy O. Fitzgerald and her husband Andrew Michael. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Walter F. Sowers, III, Brian and Melinda Sowers, Angela M. O'Rand, Michael Fitzgerald, Jaimee' and Brandon Kennedy, Brett and Brandi O'Rand, Matthew O'Rand and nine great-grandchildren.
"He fought a good fight, he finished the race, and kept the faith. Now there is in store for him the crown of righteousness".
Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m, Thursday, May 8, 2008 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 9, 2008 at Southside Baptist Church with Dr. Allan Bosson, officiating.
Active pallbearers will be Mr. O'Rand's grandsons and his nephew, Dill Gooding.
Honorary pallbearers will be Reggie Powers, John Powers, Rick Johnston, and the Adult VI men of Southside Baptist Church.
Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
