Mary Jane Bennett Yarbrough

Mary Jane Yarbrough passed away on Monday, June 2, 2008 at the age of 84.
She was born in Mitchell, South Dakota, child of Dr. & Mrs. Jesse Ravel Bennett. She graduated from Bartron Hospital School of Nursing in Watertown, S.D. in 1945. She met and married her husband, Dr. Jesse L. Yarbrough while he was stationed with the Air Force in Watertown. They relocated to Emory University where she worked as an R.N. at Grady Memorial Hospital while her husband attended and graduated from dental school. They moved to Macon, GA where he opened a dental practice. Dr. Yarbrough joined the Navy and they traveled to several states before settling in Savannah, GA where they raised four children.
She later continued her profession with the Community Cardiovascular Council under the direction of Dr.James Metts from the mid-seventies until her retirement.
Mary loved her family and friends in South Dakota and Michigan City, Indiana. She had many close friends through her church Circle and devoted much of her time serving others. One of her greatest pleasures was working in her yard with her flowers and caring for her wild birds especially Cardinals.
She was such an elegant lady. Her family and friends will miss her warm, caring and always gracious personality. She always greeted you with a smile and a "hello sweetie."
She is survived by her sons: Thomas L. Yarbrough, Stephen D. Yarbrough Laurie, Roger C. Yarbrough, and her daughter, Lisa Yarbrough. Grandchildren: Lance F. Yarbrough Stacie, Cole T. Yarbrough, Miles B. Yarbrough and John G. Jake Butler, V, and great grandchild, Gracie and her precious "Muffin."

Pallbearers: Tim O'Hayer, Ricky Duffy, Mike Doc Holiday, Guerry Wise, Brett Bouy, Blake Carlyle and Joey Butler.

Visitation will be at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors Hodgson Chapel on Thursday, June 5th from 6: oo to 8:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 6th, 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church on Bull & 31st St. with entombment in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

All Remembrances: St. Paul's Lutheran Church "Invest in St. Paul's Fund".
