George C. Sevier, Sr.
March 21, 1930 - June 09, 2008
George C. Sevier, Sr., 78, died June 9, 2008 at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was born in Douglas, Wyoming, son of the late Paul and Dorothy Peake Sevier. Mr. Sevier was a United States Air Force veteran serving in the Strategic Air Command at Hunter Army Airfield during the Korean Conflict. He was retired from Gerber Corporation after 36 years and a former communicant of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and a communicant of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. He was a founding member of the Sunshine Blitz at Bacon Park Golf Course.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Patricia McGrath Sevier of Savannah; children, George C. Sevier, Jr. and his wife, Robyn of Savannah; Sharon S. Toraya and her husband, Jules of Savannah; Susan S. McMurry and her husband, David of Concord, NC; Michael Sevier of Savannah; Patricia S. Grewe and her husband, Arlen of Summerville, SC; grandchildren, Shannon Weatherly, Logan Sevier, John Sevier, Elizabeth Sevier, Avery McMurry, Ryan David McMurry, David Toraya, Erin Toraya, Jay Toraya; great granddaughter, Baleigh Sevier and two of his best friends, Duchess and Little Bit.
Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 12, 2008 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church with The Reverend Patrick O'Brien, Celebrant.
Pallbearers will be Logan Servier, Avery McMurry, Ryan David McMurry, David Toraya, John Sevier, Edward Shellhammer, John Shellhammer and Steve Merriman.
Burial: Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

Susan,Sharon,Mrs Sevier and family, I am so sorry about Mr. Sevier. I never see a paper during the week due to work.I was on vacation today and saw it and called Dad right away. He did not know either. He was able to get to the church in time for the Mass. I know what a close family you all are and I know how hard this must be. You know what helped me when my Grandmother died...... sitting around telling stories of remember the time when...it will make you cry and laugh and think to yourself how lucky you are to have all these memories you can re-live over and over again in your thoughts.
