Barbara passed away at home on July 5, 2008. She was born in Glennville, GA and was preceded in death by her mother and father, Nana O. Smith and Pratt T. Smith and sister, Patsy S. Bland.
She graduated from Commercial High School and received a BS Degree in Nursing from Armstrong Atlantic State University. She was a retired Emergency Room Nurse, working at Candler and Memorial Hospitals for many years. She enjoyed fishing, cooking and traveling.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Ennis E. Hagin; daughter, Lisa Ann Hagin; sons, Michael E. and Patrick E. Hagin; sister, Betty S. Gooding of Augusta, GA; brother, Larry Smith of Hahira, GA; favorite brother-in-law, Maurice Bland, along with several nieces and nephews who she revered.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2008, 3:00 p.m. at the Islands Chapel of Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, 4605 Highway 80 East, to be officiated by Rev. Dr. David C. Laughner, of the Chapel By the Sea Baptist Church, Tybee Island.
Barbara was an avid supporter of the Salvation Army and the family requests that remembrances be sent to the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 23798, Savannah, GA 31403.
