Louis Franklin Whitfield

Marietta - Louis Franklin Whitfield, 77, died July 8, 2008 at Metropolitan Hospice in Marietta. He was born in Clearwater, Florida, son of the late Zack and Mittie Summerlin Cowart. He was reared in Moultrie, Georgia and from there entered the United States Army serving four years during the Korean Conflict. After the Army, Mr. Whitfield served as an Adjudicator for the Veteran's Administration in Atlanta. He was a member of Peachtree Road United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Louise Cowart Whitfield of Marietta, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Cami Whitfield Freeman and John Freeman of Ft. Mill, SC; granddaughter, Mary Louise Freeman of Ft. Mill, SC; sisters, Corine Mitchell of Valdosta, GA; Zackie Hammond of Moultrie, GA; Laura Koonz of Albany, GA; brother, Robert Whitfield of Albany, GA and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside Service: 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 12, 2008 in the Greenwich Section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
