SAVANNAH -Marcia McTeer Erickson died at home Saturday, July 26, 2008, under the care of Hospice Savannah.
She was born in Savannah, the daughter of the late G.A. McTeer and Wilma Williams McTeer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore W. Erickson.
Mrs. Erickson attended Pape School and was a graduate of Savannah High School and the University of Georgia where she earned a degree in childhood education. She taught third grade at Charles Ellis Elementary School for many years.
She was the owner of Delta Metals, Inc. and gave generously of her time to many community organizations including the Bethesda Home for Boys Womens' Board, Daughters of the American Revolution, the Fresh Air Home, Junior League of Savannah and the Savannah Chatham County Library Board. Mrs. Erickson was a member of Isle of Hope United Methodist Church.
She was a member of the Oglethorpe Club, Chatham Club, Savannah Golf Club, Savannah Yacht Club and the Club at Savannah Harbor.
Surviving are her daughters; Marci Erickson Viers Michael and Melissa Erickson Rasplicka Scott; grandchildren: Taylor Erickson Viers, Michael McTeer Viers, Merideth Williams Rasplicka and Scott Erickson Rasplicka.
Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at Bonaventure Cemetery, Reverend Dick Reese and Reverend Frank Parr officiating.
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be made to Hospice Savannah, P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31416 or Isle of Hope United Methodist Church; 412 Parkersburg Road; Savannah, GA 31406.
