CHARLES PORTER "PAT" RIGGINS

Charles Porter "Pat" Riggins, 85, died at home surrounded by his family Monday, July 28, 2008 under Hospice Care.
He was born in Savannah, Georgia, raised in Blackshear, Georgia and lived in Thunderbolt most of his life.
He retired from Erickson's Inc. as vice-president after 52 years and president of Southern Engineers Inc.
He was a member of Wilmington Island Presbyterian Church and a former elder and clerk of session of Hull Memorial Presbyterian Church. He served as alderman of Thunderbolt, Georgia for several terms.
He was a member of Acasia Masonic Lodge # 452 F&AM, a former member of the Savannah Quarter Club and the Savannah Purchasing Managers Association for over 50 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles O. and Dorothy P. Riggins and his brother James D. Riggins.


Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Carlson Riggins, his daughters, Nancy Riggins Taylor Rufus and Rebecca Riggins Ross Rick; his grandchildren, Charles Taylor Ashley, Stephanie Guckenberger, Ann McLaughlin Michael, Carol Ross; his great grandchildren, Joey and Ethan Guckenberger, Ian Evans, Emmeline and Brock Taylor, and Ella McLaughlin. He is also survived by his sister Joyce Riggins Lynn Sonny and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 29, 2008 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors Hodgson Chapel.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at 1 p.m. at Wilmington Island Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Andy Meeker and Reverend Leon Jeffords officiating.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers the family request remembrances to Hospice Savannah Inc., P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, Ga. 13190 or Wilmington Island Presbyterian Church, 450 North Cromwell Road, Savannah, Ga. 31410.
