Hilda Mae McLendon

Hilda Mae Bragg McLendon, 79, peacefully left us to live with her Lord and Savior in Heaven on Tuesday, July 29, 2008. Lead her now to your house and give us the courage to continue our lives, grateful for all she has given to us. It is precisely in these moments when we are most human, most in touch with what binds us together, that we discover the hidden depths of life. May eternal light enlighten her that she may rest in peace.
Mrs. McLendon, a native of Savannah was born on December 4, 1928, the daughter of the late Horace and Dahlia Bragg. She was a devoted wife, mother and loving provider to her family. Hilda was an avid bowler and a member of the Women's Bowling Association. Hilda was a devoted and longtime member of White Bluff Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. McLendon is survived by her loving husband of sixty-one years, William H. McLendon; daughters, Janice Dianne Gross and husband David of Pooler and Karen Galletta and husband Mike of Savannah; son, Bill McLendon of Savannah; daughter, Vicki Lynn Lanier and husband Jimmy of Ellabell; grandchildren, Tricia Quarterman and husband Mark, Ricky Clark and wife, Shannon, Amy Lutz, Julie Ambos and husband David, Aaron and Christopher McLendon, Angela Gooding, Brandi Miller and husband Ricky, Miranda Ready, Brittany Edwards and husband Gary and Matthew Ready; thirteen grandchildren; brother, Bobby Franklin Bragg and wife Marion of Savannah and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 6:00-8:00 PM Friday at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral Service: 1:00 PM Saturday at White Bluff Presbyterian Church with burial following at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
Flowers are accepted and donations may be made to White Bluff Presbyterian Church, 10710 White Bluff Rd., Savannah, GA 31419.
So sorry to hear about Hilda passing. She was a very dear friend for a long time. We bowled together for many years in different leagues. I also bowled with her son Bill. She was always a lot of fun to be around. She will be missed. My prayers are with the family at this time.
