JAMES N. "JIMMY" MAVRIKIS

James N. "Jimmy" Mavrikis 83, the son the late Charles and Helen Mavrikis died Friday, August 8, 2008 at Hospice Savannah.
Mr. Mavrikis was a native and longtime resident of Savannah. He was an Engineer with the Seaboard Coastline Railroad retiring after 40 years of service. After his retirement Mr. Mavrikis became a Barber owning several shops in Savannah. He continued to barber the remainder of his life at his shop, RePetes on DeRenne Avenue. Mr. Mavrikis was a member of St. Paul's Greek Orthodox Church.

He was preceded in death by his son, Chris J. Mavrikis and his brother, Sam Mavrikis.

Surviving are, his wife Vera Mavrikis, his son Pete Mavrikis, his daughter, Monique Cook, his brother, Peter Mavrikis, his grandchildren, Olivia and Trey James Mavrikis and Connor James Cook.

A Trisagion Service will Sunday, August 10, 2008 at 7 p.m. at St. Paul's Greek Orthodox Church with visitation beginning at 6 p.m.

Funeral Services will be Monday, August 11, 2008 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Greek Orthodox Church with burial in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, please send remembrances to Hospice Savannah in appreciation for the Excellent Care they provided during his battle with cancer.
