Tom Holton, 88, died August 26, 2008 at Hospice Savannah, Inc. He was a native of Millen, Georgia and lived in Emmanuel County for many years before moving to Savannah in 1946. He worked for Union Camp for 37 years and served in the United States Army T-5 Infantry during World War II where he was stationed in the Pacific. He was a member of Whitefield United Methodist Church, VFW Post No. 360, Woodmen of the World Zebulon Lodge No. 246.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas L. Holton, Sr and Linda Holton. of Griffin, GA; son, Bruce Holton of Savannah; daughter, July Nelson of Hardeeville, SC; brother, Rabon Holton of Augusta; sister, Sarah Kate Rowland of Savannah; eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 28, 2008 in the Hodgson Chapel of Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors.
Burial: Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
