THUNDERBOLT-Lester Walden Foreman, 84, died Wednesday, September 10, 2008 under the care of Hospice Savannah.
Mr. Foreman was born in West Columbia, WV on September 24, 1923, the son of the late Lester W. and Joy Foreman. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was active in the Battle of the Bulge. His military career caused him to relocate to Savannah in the early forties where he met his wife, Sara M. Foreman. Lester was employed by Amoco Oil where he served for many years until retiring from American Oil currently British Petroleum. He was a member of Thunderbolt Lodge #693 F.&A.M., The Scottish Rite Consistory-Valley of Savannah and the Alee Shrine where he was active with the Flag Unit. Mr. Foreman was of the Baptist faith and had been attending Calvary in Savannah.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Foreman was preceded in death by his loving wife of forty-six years, Sara M. Foreman and son, Lester W. Foreman. He is survived by his daughters, Lynn Trabue and husband James and Lisa A. Foreman, both of Thunderbolt; sons, Rodney L. Foreman of Atlanta and Michael Foreman and wife Janie of Savannah; brother, Lawrence Foreman and wife Betty of WV; sisters, Mary Ruth Thabet of WV and Jane Abbot and husband Edgar of OH; grandsons, Chris Trabue, Jeff P. Trabue and wife Sarah, Les W. and Jason D. and Justin Foreman, Matt Foreman and wife Jordan; great-grandson, Gavin Foreman and great-granddaughters, Lilly and Traylee Foreman and Cali Trabue.
Visitation: 11:00-12:00 PM Friday at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel.
Graveside Funeral Service: 2:00 PM Friday at Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park.

I just learned of Les's death.He was like a father to me growing up as I practically lived at the Foreman's house.I also just learned of Butch's death he was my brother growing up.God will keep them safe till we get there to rejoin them in His house..
