Wray Potter Kessel
Passed away on October 10, 2008
Wray Potter Kessel died Friday, October 10, 2008 at St. Joseph's Hospital. She was a lifelong resident of Savannah and was retired from Union Camp Corporation. Mrs. Kessel was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church where she was active in the choir. She was a former communicant of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was active in the Kairos Prison Ministry and was formerly the secretary of the Georgia Chapter. She was one of the founding members of the Little Theatre of Savannah. She was a graduate of Armstrong Atlantic State University in 1976 and was also a member of the planning committee for the Pape School 100th year anniversary celebration.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Dick and Billy Potter.
Mrs. Kessel is survived by her husband, Walt Kessel, of Savannah, one niece and her husband, Pott and Hugh Nash, of Nashville, TN, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, Hugh Nash, III, Sarah Nash, Will Nash, and Catherine O'Rear and numerous great-grand-nieces and nephews.
Visiation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, October 12, 2008 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel with a Rosary service at 7:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 12:00 noon, Monday, October 13, 2008 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
Remembrances may be made to the Kairos Prison Ministry, Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, or the Savannah Diocese Cursillo Movement.

Brother Walt, I am so sorry for your loss and our loss. I thank God for having had the opportunity to have known miss Wray. Without question, Wray has joined the Saints Triumphant and she will live in the house of the Lord forever.
