James  Brennan, Jr.

James Francis "Jimmy" Brennan, Jr., 88, died October 15, 2008 at Hospice Savannah, Inc. The native and lifelong resident of Savannah grew up on Troup Square. He retired as a Detective from the Savannah Police Department and was a member of the Saint Patrick's Day Parade Committee, Fenian Society and a 3rd. Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus Council 631. Mr. Brennan enjoyed playing golf at Bacon Park Golf Course and coached little league baseball at Coke Field for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Leagrace Brennan.

Surviving are his children, Thomas J. Brennan and his wife, Lynn; Patricia Ann Brennan, James F. Brennan, III and his wife, Gina; Linda Brennan Burnett; Barry A. Brennan and his wife, Lynn; brother, Joseph Patrick Brennan; eleven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 17, 2008 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 18, 2008 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with The Reverend Jeremiah McCarthy and Monsignor P. James Costigan Celebrants.

Pallbearers will be Harry "Copie" Burnett, Sheldon Brennan, Terry Brennan, Travis Moll, Talmadge Wall, Sims Dowdy and Dylan Frawley.

Burial: Catholic Cemetery.
