Wyman Rick Simmons
October 24, 1944 - October 26, 2008
Wyman "Rick" Simmons, 64 years old, died Sunday morning, October 26, 2008, at his home due to smoke inhalation. The Savannah native was born October 24, 1944 to James G. and Nell Simmons. Rick was a veteran of the United States Army and was a member of American Legion, Post 184. He retired from Union Camp in 2004 after forty years of service. During the 1970's and 1980's he was a Boy Scout Leader.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one loving and devoted sister, Loretta F. Ray.
He is survived by three nieces and a nephew, including his devoted caregiver Melissa B. Ray; several cousins, including caregiver Mary K. Hohnerlein; a brother, Edward Simmons of Atlanta; and a sister, Gerron Moss of Salem, IN; and several aunts and uncles.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday in the Hodgson Chapel of Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors.
Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
