Raymond Brady Meyer

Tybee Island, Georgia - Raymond Brady Meyer, 88, died November 3, 2008 at Oceanside Nursing Home. Mr. Meyer was a native of Kansas and a graduate of Inman High School and McPherson College. During World War II, he served from 1942 to 1946 in the Navy and Marine Corps, where he attained the rank of Captain. After the war, he was associated with the Veterans Administration at Wichita, Muskogee and in 1950 the VA Central Office in Washington, D.C. In 1955, Mr. Meyer transferred to the Central Intelligence Agency. In 1961, he returned to the Veterans Administration where he served in various management type positions until he retired in 1975. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Agnes McGill Meyer and grandson, Michael Scott Meyer.

Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth J. "Libby" Meyer of Tybee Island, GA; son, William H. Meyer of Ft. Myers, FL; step-sons, Wesley L. Harris, Jr. and his wife, Gay of Statesboro, GA; James F. Harris of Tybee Island, GA; William B. Harris of Cartersville, GA; Gregory L. Harris and his wife, Marta of Williamsburg, VA; brother, Richard Meyer of Buena Vista, AR; three step-grandchildren, Jessica, Wesley and Zoie Harris and one aunt.

Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 5, 2008 in the Islands Chapel of Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors with a reception following at the Meyer residence, Tybee Island.
