WILLIAM "BILL" DAVIS
William "Bill" Davis 63, died Tuesday, November 04, 2008 at St. Joseph's Hospital. Mr. Davis was a native and lifelong resident of Savannah. He was retired form the Savannah Police Department after 39 and half years. He was the Commander of the Military Order of the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Vietnam Veterans Association, American Legion Post #135, the Disabled American Veterans and the Police Officers Association of Georgia.
Surviving are; his wife, Elaine Davis of Pooler, his daughters, Terri Keldie and husband Ernest of Savannah, Pamela Helmly and husband Stephen of Marietta, Ga., Sherrie Collins and husband Dave of Statesboro, Ga. and Janet Smith of Bluffton, S.C.; his brothers, Arthur F. Davis of Savannah, John Davis of Savannah; his sister, Helen Ciucevich and husband David of Savannah and 12 grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 6, 2008 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors Hodgson Chapel with a Rosary Service at 7 p.m.
Graveside Services will be Friday, November 7, 2008 at 12 noon in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville, Georgia with Military Honors.
