Mr. Isadore Diamond

Wilmington Island - Isadore Diamond, 93, longtime resident of Tybee Island died November 7, 2008 at his residence on Wilmington Island. He was born in Toronto, Canada, son of the late Samuel and Goldie Brooks Diamond. Mr. Diamond moved to Tybee Island in the 1950's. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corp and the United States Army during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. For many years, he was the operator of XYZ Beverage on Tybee Island. He was preceded in death by his son, Donald Diamond, brothers, Hy Diamond, Morris Diamond and sister, Lottie Diamond.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Katy I. Diamond of Wilmington Island; daughter, Sherry Brinson and her husband, Jim of Midland, GA; step-son, Bobby Bunger and his wife, Shirley of Midway, GA; brothers, Max Diamond and his wife, Sarah of Atlanta, GA; Louie Diamond and his wife, Sonya of Savannah; sister, Sophie Katzif of Savannah; grandchildren, Katherine Robinson and her husband, Brian of Boca Raton, FL; Christopher Brinson and his wife, Danielle of New Orleans, LA; Dawn Holmes and her husband, Jessie of Waynesboro, GA; Jim Bunger of Wiley, TX; five great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel.
Funeral: 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 12, 2008 in the Islands Chapel of Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors with Reverend Patrick O'Brien, officiating.
Burial: Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with military honors.
