James Archer  King, Jr.

James Archer King, Jr., 69, of Savannah, Georgia died Thursday morning, November 27, 2008, under the care of Hospice Savannah.

Mr. King was born and grew up in Talladega, Alabama on February 16, 1939, the son of the late James Archer King, Sr., and the late Lilly Castleberry King of Talladega, Alabama. Mr. King was a graduate of Auburn University and served his country in the United States Army. During his career, Mr. King resided in Atlanta, St. Crois, Virgin Islands, St. Simons Island and Savannah, Georgia. He began his career in the insurance business and ultimately retired as a stockbroker from Prudential. Mr. King was a member of St. John's Church in Savannah.

He is survived by his brother, Edwin Oliver King of Talladega, Alabama; a host of cousins and many devoted friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at St. John's Church of Savannah followed by a reception in the Green-Meldrim House. Further details of the funeral services which will be held in Talladega, Alabama will be announced.
