Elmer John Bushee, 91, died December 1, 2008 at the home of his granddaughter. He was born in Pawlet, Vermont, son of the late David Irvin and Isabel Goodell Bushee. Mr. Bushee was a 1936 graduate of Troy Conference Academy in Pultney, Vermont and a 1948 graduate of Rutland Business College in Rutland, Vermont. He entered the United States Air Force in 1940 and served in the Pacific Theater, Puerto Rico, Turkey and other bases throughout the United States. During his military career, he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal with 4 bronze loops, American Defense Service Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the Air Force Longevity Service Medal with 4 Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters. He retired from the United States Air Force in 1964 and remained in the United States Air Force Reserved until 1974. After his military career, he worked with the United States Postal Service retiring after many years of service. He was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church and enjoyed fishing, cribbage, chess, reading, growing a garden and working on automobiles. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys H. Bushee, sons, Terrell and Roy Floyd and brother, Pete Bushee.

Surviving are his son, Randy Bushee of Lancaster, CA; eleven grandchildren,
eighteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Visitation: 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Thursday, December 4, 2008 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel with a Prayer Service at 6:00 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 5, 2008 at St. James Catholic Church with The Reverend Mark Ross, Celebrant.

Burial: Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
