Amparo  Carr

Amparo Jimenez Carr, died December 17, 2008 at home. She was born in Madrid, Spain, daughter of the late Luis Perez and Josefa Jimenez. Mrs. Carr was a devoted wife of a military officer in the United States Air Force stationed in Rhode Island, Florida, England, Spain, South Carolina, Nebraska, Guam and Savannah. She was a longtime employee at the Officer's Club at Hunter Army Airfield. She was a communicant of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church and attended Immanuel Baptist Church with her family. Mrs. Carr was a dog and bird breeder of Afghan and Russian Hounds and Cockatiels. Her husband, John Robert Carr, III preceded her in death.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, John L. and Stephanie Carr of Savannah; grandchildren, John Robert Carr and Olivia Carr both of Savannah and numerous nieces and nephews in Madrid, Spain.
Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 19, 2008 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Graveside Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 20, 2008 in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
Remembrances: Immanuel Baptist Church Youth Fund, 7375 Hodgson Memorial Dr., Savannah, GA 31406 or Humane Society Savannah-Chatham, 7215 Sallie Mood Dr., Savannah, GA 31406.
