Ralph Claybrook James, Jr.
April 07, 1950 - December 23, 2008
Ralph C. James was born on Good Friday, April 7, 1950 and died December 23, 2008. He was the son of the late Ralph and Betty James.
He was a native son of Savannah where he attended parochial and public schools. At an early age he set out on his career with the National Maritime Union as a United States merchant seaman. Ralph was able to travel on ships that carried supplies to many parts of the world. Some of these trips were in areas of conflict such as Vietnam and the Persian Gulf. Between shipping off on his next voyage, Ralph lived temporarily between Boston Massachusetts and New York City.
He is survived by his daughter Hillery; granddaughter Grace; brother Billy; sister-in-law Debbie; nephew Clay, and extended family members.
A graveside service of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am Sat. Dec. 27, 2008 at the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery. David Drawdy will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
