Luke E. McDade, 95, died Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was a native of East Point, GA and lived in Savannah most of his life. He was a member of Calvary in Savannah and the Rupert Horne Sunday School Class. Mr. McDade was a member of the Tybee Light Shrine Supper Club, the Bethel-Bur-Ton Club and the Windsor Forest Golden Age Center.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Louise D. McDade, of Savannah; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kay and Michael Bingham, of Georgetown, Texas, and Cynthia and Benjamin Padgett, of Savannah; his brother, Olin McDade, of East Point, GA; his brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Marcy McDade, of Greenville, SC; and three grandchildren, Ches Merritt and his wife, Erica, Danielle Merritt, and Amanda Padgett.
Visitation: 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Thursday, January 1, 2009 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 2, 2009 at Calvary in Savannah, Wilder Chapel, with the Rev. Wayne Watts officiating.
Entombment will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
Remembrances: Calvary in Savannah Building Fund or St. Joseph's Hospital, Neuro Intensive Care Unit, 2nd floor.
