Amelia "Mickey" Myers

Amelia "Mickey" Myers, 93, died Thursday, January 8, 2009 in Savannah.
Mrs. Myers was born in Greensboro, NC on February 20, 1915, the daughter of the late Max and Henrietta Block. She was an avid bridge player and Past President of the Savannah Contract Bridge Club and earned the rank of Life Master. She was a former member of Congregation Mickve Israel Synagogue and a member of the sisterhood.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Myers was preceded in death by her husand, Stephen K. Myers, Sr.; sisters, Mabel McKinney and Miriam Lubin; brothers, Dr. Milton Block and Norman Block. She is survived by her sons, Thomas E. Myers and wife Elaine of Tybee Island, Stephen K. Myers, Jr. of Savannah and Dr. Richard L. Myers and wife Betty of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Matt Myers and Jinny Burford and husband Ken; great-grandchildren, Emily and Caidy Burford.
Funeral services will be private.

Mickey was a wonderful Lady with whom I enjoyed my brief visits either at the bridge table or on the way to and from there in the car. She really enjoyed the game, her family, and her home. I am sincerely sorry of her passing.
