Stephen Lee Ankerson, 53, died Sunday January 25, 2009 at his residence. Mr. Ankerson was born in Atlanta and lived in the midwest before moving to Savannah 25 years ago. He was the owner of Savannah Clutch and Industrial Brake.

He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Nicole Ankerson, of Savannah; his mother, Patricia Ankerson, of Orlando, Florida; his brother and sister-in-law, Chris and Jill Ankerson, of Orlando; his sister, Jan Ankerson, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and his nephew Collin Ankerson, of Orlando.

Stephen's integrity, humor and kind spirit will be missed by all who knew him and loved him.

Remembrances may be made to the Savannah-Chatham Humane Society, Habitat for Humanity, or the Heifer Project.
