Maude  Brannen Futch

Savannah - Maude Brannen Futch, 94, died February 18, 2009 at St. Joseph's Hospital. She was born in Bulloch County, daughter of the late Alonzo L. Brannen and Annie Fountain Brannen. She lived in Savannah since 1938. Mrs. Futch served as Linen Manager for Sears and Roebuck Company for many years and was a prestigious clothier of women' apparel for Fines and retired from Caldwell's at Piccadilly. She was a faithful member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Mrs. Futch always welcomed her family into her home and over the years served as a boarder for many of her nieces and nephews. She had a great passion for politics, the news of the day and was an avid baseball, football and NASCAR fan. Her husband, Cecil E. Futch and grandson, Noel Johnson preceded her in death.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Melva R. and Karl Johnson, Jr. of Bloomingdale; son and daughter-in-law, Cecil B. and Bonni Futch of Brentwood, TN; grandchildren, Karl Johnson, III and his wife, Cathy of Bloomingdale; Erik Johnson of Bloomingdale; Clarke Futch and his wife, Julie of Greenwich, CT; Craig Futch and his wife, Kelley of Brentwood, TN; Curt Futch and his wife, Ann of Ft. Worth, TX; great grandchildren, Katie, Casey, Rawls, Hayden, Jordan, Annika, Annabelle, Ellery, Rainey, Elsa and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 20, 2009 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.

Funeral: 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 21, 2009 in the Hodgson Chapel of Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors with Reverend Dr. Earl Best, officiating.

Burial: Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

The family wishes to thank Erma J. Brown, Catherine B. Gray, Delores Myers, Cheryl W. Bailey, Genevia Howard and Tamika Thomas from Genesis Personal Care Home
for the loving and devoted care shown to their mother and Chris Sharkey, her faithful and devoted friend of over fifteen years that assisted Mrs. Futch each day.
